The 366,000 square-foot Don Taft University Center, is a focal point for campus life at NSU and features a 4,500 seat arena, state-of-the-art wellness and fitness center, performing and visual arts wing, food court, and the Flight Deck – NSU’s student lounge. While it is a central hub for NSU students, faculty and staff, the Don Taft University Center also plays host to many events for the South Florida community.
The Rick Case Arena is home turf to NSU’s NCAA basketball and volleyball teams, but it is also available for rental by outside groups. The venue holds many community events throughout the year, including local high school graduations, concerts, comedians, cheerleading competitions, Special Olympics, banquets, guest speakers, and sporting events.
The Arts Wing of the University Center houses the . As part of its arts curriculum, the Division presents outstanding theatrical, musical, and dance productions; as well as visual arts exhibitions. These productions are often open to the public and serve as co-curricular opportunities for students to gain practical experience, and provide the NSU community with a local resource for educational and entertaining presentations. This facility is also home to the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, NSU’s orchestra in residence. Ars Flores is a unique professional orchestra with professional, conservatory, college, and gifted high school students performing side by side. Public master classes, conducted by guest artists, also are offered to South Florida student musicians and observers.
